Under New Management is a politically charged mixed-media assemblage that examines the evolving nature of American identity through familiar yet altered national symbols.

At the center of the composition is a reconstructed flag surrounded by a circle of crimson barbed wire. Together, these elements create a visual tension between unity and division, freedom and restriction, tradition and transformation. The stark phrase beneath the flag suggests a nation experiencing profound change while leaving the interpretation entirely to the viewer.

Although much of my work has historically focused on abstraction and formal design, this piece represents a conscious decision to engage more directly with contemporary events. Artists have often played an important role in documenting their times, offering perspectives that encourage reflection and dialogue long after headlines have faded.

As a print, Under New Management preserves the textures, layered surfaces, and symbolic details of the original work while making the image accessible to a wider audience. It serves as both a visual statement and a conversation piece—an invitation to consider how political movements reshape the meaning of the symbols we inherit.
