A dynamic interplay of color and form drives Santa Fe Jive, where layered passages of ochre, teal, red, and muted neutrals intersect in a composition that feels both constructed and spontaneous. Broad vertical and horizontal elements create a loose framework, while softened edges and scumbled transitions allow forms to bleed into one another, generating a sense of motion across the surface. Painted cardboard elements introduce subtle shifts in texture and depth, reinforcing the tactile quality of the work. There is a rhythm here—uneven, intuitive, and slightly offbeat—that echoes the layered cultural and visual pulse of Santa Fe itself. Rather than settling into symmetry or predictability, the painting embraces variation and flow, offering a visual experience that feels alive, responsive, and in constant conversation.
